KOHAT, Jan 20: Mufti Ibrar Sultan, an MNA from Kohat, suspended two customs officials at the Kotal customs check post after seeing them taking bribe from truckers while returning to his home after meeting provincial Chief Minister Akram Durrani in Peshawar on Sunday.

However, on intervention of high officials and appeals for mercy made by the accused, he spared both of them but with a stern warning that in future any one found taking bribe should be ready for facing serious consequences.

He later met the truckers and apologized on behalf of the government and asked them to discourage such practices by bringing the matter to the notice of concerned minister. He said that MMA wanted to wipe out malpractice from the government departments and make the people realise their duties and responsibilities.—Correspondent
