HYDERABAD, Feb 11: Relatives of a murdered policeman of the central jail held a protest demonstration on Monday and demanded that his killers are arrested.

They chanted slogans for justice and burnt old tyres on the main road, suspending vehicular traffic for half an hour outside the central jail.

Policeman Jawaid Tanoli was wounded in an armed attack on Saturday night at Hirabad within the remit of the Market police station. He was shifted to the Liaquat University Hospital (LUH) Hyderabad branch where he died on Sunday night during treatment.

The deceased, who hailed from Haripur, was a temporary resident of the jail colony.—Staff Correspondent
