Respect through hard work, not titles

I AM disappointed at the National Judicial Policy Making Committee’s (NJPMC) appeal to retired judges to give up lower posts in order to maintain the dignity of the judiciary.

For any educated person to regard any post that provides a legitimate service and enables him to earn an honest living as ‘lower’ than any other shows a sense of inferiority.

Dignity and respect do not come from titles, or positions, except for the insecure. These only come from performing one’s responsibility honestly and to the best of one’s ability.

May I respectfully suggest all NJPMC members to serve a mandatory period with, say, the Edhi Trust, to learn about this.
