Christopher Paolini is a 29-year-old American author based in Montana. He is best known as the author of Inheritance Cycle, a seriesof books comprising Eragon, Eldest, Brisingr and Inheritance.
Eragon is about dragons, elves, princesses, dragon riders, magic and mystery. The protagonist is Eragon — a 16-year-old boy, lives in a mythical island Alagaesia. The book is very interesting to read and it is one of my favourites.

My beautiful weekend
My favourite day is Saturday, as with Saturday begins my wonderful weekend. I get up in the morning and after taking a shower and then breakfast, I play cricket with my friends. Sometimes, I also visit my cousins’ places where my aunts treat me with my favourite dish, biryani.
I also read my favourite books during the weekend.

Books are no less than a treasure. Books give us knowledge and play a vital role in our character building. Books are a man’s best friends as in times of loneliness, books prove to be true and faithful companions that do not misguide us.

Arfa Karim
This is with reference to the letter Arfa Karim: the pride of Pakistan by Ayesha Nadeem (Jan 19, 2013). I agree with the writer that she was a brilliant girl who brought honour to our country. Though she is no more, but she will always stay alive in our hearts.

Study hard, get rewards!
This is a feedback to the article Study hard, get rewards! by Saanwal Karamat Barlaas (YW, January 26, 2013). The writer is right in saying that only hard work can get us success.
If someone thinks that he/she can become successful without putting any efforts, it’s totally wrong. There’s no shortcut to success!

Readers are leaders
It’s a fact that readers are leaders. Reading habit provides us with many advantages. Besides enhancing our knowledge, it sharpens our analytical skills and improves our decision-making ability. Therefore, make reading your habit.
Read anything valuable and from any source; books, internet, newspapers, magazines, etc. As you will begin to read on a regular basis, you will notice a positive change in your personality. A person who reads always outshines those who don’t. So if you want to lead the crowd, become a reader.

Word search
I’m thankful to the Young World team to come up with such wonderful ideas to strengthen our word power — Word search section is another such addition. This section not only helps us enriching our vocabulary, it also polishes our mental abilities.

The creepy letter mystery
This is with reference to the story The creepy letter mystery by O.A. (January 26, 2013). The story was true to life as in our country too, many people misuse the police helpline service 15 by calling them ‘just for fun’!
It’s not only a ridiculous act but also illegal to misguide the police and waste their time. I suggest to all those ‘non serious’ people who look for such weird pastimes to get involved in some useful and healthy activities.

The power of gems
This is with reference to the cover story Powerful and precious by Maleeha Ahmad Qureshi (February 2, 2013). It was a beautiful article in which the writer aesthetically described various precious stones.
I am personally interested in gemology and read a lot about gems and stones on internet. I am also a firm believer of the healing power these stones possess. I appreciate Young World team for publishing an article on such a useful and interesting subject.
