KARACHI, Feb 7: The Saddar Town administration is keen to develop a softball ground in the vicinty to promote the sport at the grass-roots level.
This was stated by chief officer Asim Ali Khan during his meeting with a delegation of the Sindh Softball Association (SSA) which called on him here on Wednesday.
Secretary Asif Azeem was leading the SSA delegation which also included Sindh captain Mohammad Iqbal, player Javed Jamil and others.
Asim said development work at the ground in Clifton will start soon and expressed hope that it would be ready by the end of the year. He informed the SSA officials that their main objective is to create this facility for the players to polish their skills.
Asim said besides developing facilities for the sport, they would also be sponsoring an inter-district softball event here next month.
He complimented SSA for promoting the game and successfully holding the 10th National Women’s Softball Championship in December last.
SSA secretary Asif Azeem briefed the chief officer about the progress of softball at the provincial and national level.—APP
