Security for WHO teams

PESHAWAR, Feb 5: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has directed the provincial police officer, divisional commissioners, and deputy commissioners to provide all possible assistance, including securityto the WHO teams, during visits in connection with polio campaigns in different districts of the province.

A statement issued from the home and tribal affairs department here on Tuesday referred to a meeting of WHO-UNDSS held on Feb 1st in which it was decided that the government would provide security to the teams.

The meeting also decided to conduct a post-polio campaign survey in the union councils where there was no security risk to identify the children who had not been administered with the polio drops.
