LAHORE, Feb 4: Two maids took away cash, foreign currency and jewellery worth approximately Rs15 million from the house of a retired judge in Gulshan-e-Ravi on Monday.
Nayyar Iqbal told the police their maids, Perveen and Shazia, stole 55-tola gold jewellery, hundreds of thousands rupees in cash and thousands of US dollars. The culprits had been hired two months ago, he added.
Some men stormed into the house of Ghulam Nabi in Kot Lakhpat police limits and fled after looting cash and valuables worth Rs1 million.
MURDER: Unidentified people gunned down two men in separate shootings in the city on Monday.
Hanjarwal police said Sarfaraz was shot dead by unidentified assailants near his residence in Alhamd Colony.
Nawankot police said Umair was killed by unidentified men in Sodiwal.
Police said motives behind both killings were under investigation.
ACCIDENT: A 10-year-old girl died after being hit by a train in Ghaziabad on Monday. Police said Laiba, daughter of Azhar Hussain, was crossing a railway track when a train ran her over.
