PESHAWAR, Feb 3: Speakers at a consultative meeting organised jointly by the Election Commission of Pakistan and UNDP here on Sunday underlined the need for enhancement of women participation and increasing female staff in the election process with an objective to bolster voters' turnout during 2013 general elections.

ECP additional secretary Mohammad Afzal Khan, provincial election commissioner Sono Khan, UNDP spokeswomen Nighat Siddique and other officials spoke on the importance of enhancement of women representation and increasing female staff in electoral process.

Speaking on the occasion and later talking to media persons, ECP official Afzal Khan said active participation of women in the electoral process would be ensured at all costs. —APP
