QUETTA, Feb 3: A major disaster was averted on Sunday when an improvised bomb rigged to a bicycle was defused here on Sariab road, sources said.

A Frontier Corps contingent patrolling the area spotted the bicycle parked in front of a hotel and informed the police.

The bomb disposal squad personnel reached the site and found a time device and explosives in the milk can on the bicycle. The bomb disposal squad team defused the 10kg bomb.—Staff Correspondent
