LAHORE, Jan 18: Justice Syed Zahid Hussain of the Lahore High Court, taking up a plea against the merger of two academic courses, directed the Pakistan Veterinary Medical Council (PVMC) to review the decision and decide the matter through a board headed by an LHC judge.

The Animal Husbandry Association had submitted that DVM and BSc (Hon) AH were two different courses of four years duration each, but the Council had merged the courses under a composite DVM degree of five years duration. It submitted that under the PVMC Act, the Council had no authority to do so.—APP
