AT the time when Dr Ali was murdered inside his clinic in Peshawar recently, his wife was in a hospital in Islamabad because she was expecting. The world for her was shattered in seconds. Just imagine the pain she and her family are going through right now. Their suffering cannot be explained in words.

The wife could not even go to see her husband’s body one last time because his wounds were bleeding and thus his body had to be buried. This terrible ordeal has shaken all his relatives and now they are considering shifting out of the country.

It appears law-enforcers are looking at this matter like a random incident. An unidentified group is on a killing spree, targeting highly-respected people of a certain sect. This is the fourth incident so far and the police officials have made zero progress in putting an end to such killings. Their failure to apprehend anyone shows the incompetence of the various law-enforcement departments.

How unfortunate that people are considering moving abroad because their lives are not safe here!

If this matter is not dealt with on a priority, key cities of Pakistan will become as unsafe as a war zone. It makes me wonder how many other families would get ruined like the one mentioned above before higher authorities take serious action against these killers roaming freely.
