LAHORE, Jan 28: Strike by young doctors at outpatient departments of government hospitals all over the province entered 14th day on Monday.

The Young Doctors Association, Punjab, had announced strike in protest against lodging of a criminal case and departmental action against young doctors in the aftermath of the Gujranwala incident of violence took place at DHQ Hospital.The doctors announced that their protest would continue till the withdrawal of the actions taken against their colleagues.

They continued to attend patients at the medical camps set up outside the OPDs.

Meanwhile, a delegation of YDA met Tehrik-i-Insaaf President Javed Hashmi and apprised him of their problems and the Punjab government’s discriminatory attitude towards their longstanding demands.

Headed by YDA President Dr Javed Aheer, the delegation comprised Dr Amir Bandesha, Dr Ajmal and Dr Ali Dogar.

YDA spokesman Dr Khurram Shahzad said: “Javed Hashmi has promised to visit young doctors’ medical camps set up outside the OPDs to support their cause.”
