10 outlaws arrested
ISLAMABAD, Jan 24: Islamabad police had a busy day on Wednesday, arresting several people in separate events and recovering vehicles, counterfeit currency, alcohol, drugs and weapons. In total, ten people were apprehended.
According to a spokesman, a search operation by the Barakahu police at Expressway and Doungi Kasi led to the arrest of two people who were found carrying three 30-bore pistols and 20 rounds of ammunition.
During interrogation, the detainees disclosed their involvement in automobile theft. The information they gave led the police to conduct a raid at Ghosia Mohalla, where they recovered a stolen Suzuki Carry.
In Tarnol, police patrolling in Jhangi Saydan arrested a drug peddler and confiscated one kilogram of opium.
On a tip-off, Sabzi Mandi police searched a man at Mandi Mor and discovered counterfeit currency notes to the value of Rs45,000. In an unrelated event, they received two stolen vehicles, a Toyota Corolla and a Cultus. Police in Sihala arrested two men alleged to be thieves.
The city's Crime Investigation Agency intercepted two suspicious CG-125 motorcycles in Irfanabad; the registration books turned out to be counterfeit, and the cycles had in fact been stolen from Shahzad Town.—Staff Reporter
