FAISALABAD, Nov 24: The Punjab government has directed all the District Nazims to raid on the educational and health institutions in their respective areas to check the attendance and performance of the government employees.

Sources told this correspondent on Saturday that the Punjab government received complaints about the absence of teachers, doctors and subordinate staff, especially from education institutions and health facilities in far-flung areas.

“The education department has directed the executive district officer (education) to ensure 100 per cent attendance of professors, assistant professors, lecturers, teachers and subordinate staff in all colleges and schools, otherwise disciplinary action would be taken against them,” sources said.

They claimed that District Nazims along with government functionaries concerned would raid on the hospitals, rural health centres and dispensaries to check the working of doctors and para-medical staff.

Action would also be taken against the owners of medical stores, set up in the hospitals in violation of rules and regulations.

Meanwhile, Faisalabad District Nazim Zahid Nazir during a surprise visit of the Government Inter College, Satiana Road, found Principal Dr Anwar and professors Muhammad Aslam, Arshad Randhawa, Tariq Jawed and Rajib Shah absent from their duties.

The District Nazim was informed that they were on leave but there was no entry to the effect on the attendance register and their leave applications were also not available. The Nazim asked the EDO (education) to conduct an enquiry against them.
