PESHAWAR, Jan 14: A daylong career planning seminar on Monday focused on guiding the students to select the most suitable field of education according to their aptitude, skills, abilities and values.

The seminar was organised by the Eduvision, an NGO, at the Islamia College University.

The Eduvision has been providing assistance and guidance to the students in the selection of a proper field which suits their goals and aptitude by analysing local and global employment market.

Talking to the participants, Yousuf Almas, CEO Eduvision, defined the career planning as a continuous process that is done by considering the student’s aptitude, his/her desire, national and international circumstances, status of the different fields in the society and job market.

Mr Almas said the process of career planning starts when a children desires of becoming a doctor or a pilot in his early life. “Choosing a career is the most crucial decision of anyone's life as it determines how you will spend your life, what you will be known as, what your lifestyle will be like, how much you will earn and what you will be doing. So career planning can be defined as the systematic way of achieving one's objectives in a relatively long-term or lifelong job or occupation, he explained, but said in Pakistani society, career planning is a major problem faced by the students.—APP
