Top Wasa defaulters

LAHORE, Jan 15: The defunct Metropolitan Corporation of Lahore, Lahore Development Authority and 23 government departments have to pay over Rs235.22 million on account of water supply, sewerage and aquifer charges to the Water and Sanitation Agency.

The MCL is on the top of the list of Wasa defaulters with accumulated arrears of Rs796.41829 million followed by the LDA with arrears of Rs460.34595 million. The Punjab Health Department is the third among the top Wasa defaulters and has to pay it Rs440.58704 million.

The Parks and Horticulture Authority has to pay Rs216,66474 million, the Education Department Rs126.66783 million and the Punjab police Rs8.126087 million. A sum of Rs5.66975 million is outstanding against the University of Engineering and Technology and Rs3.5574 million against the Governor’s House.

The Punjab PWD has to pay Rs3.497337 million, the Punjab Road Transport Corporation Rs1.560188 million, the Forest Department directorate Rs1.23822 million and the Civil Secretariat Rs1.547450 million. An amount of Rs1.112650 million is outstanding against the district courts (now district Nazim office), Rs1.04295 million towards the Government Printing Press and Rs1.072262 million towards the Auqaf Department.

The Punjab Sports director-general has to pay Rs907,700, the Irrigation Department Rs673,538, the Agriculture Department Rs247,300, the Board of Revenue Rs241,500, the Settlement Commissioner Rs186,000, the Lahore Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Rs154,068, the Industries Department Rs85,785, Excise and Taxation Directorate Rs15,670 and the IG Prisons’ office Rs4,200.
