ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Capital Administration and Development (CAD) has declared holiday in all government and private educational institutions in Islamabad on Monday.
The decision was taken keeping in view the expected march announced by Tehrik Minhajul Quran chief Tahirul Qadri on the federal capital on March 14.
Joint Secretary CAD Rafique Tahir said security of students was the first priority so it had been decided to declare a holiday on Monday.
Malik Ibrar, a representative of the private school and college owners’ association, confirmed that their institutions would also remain closed.
“On Monday we will take further decision to extend the holidays. Because of shortage of petrol, transporters faced difficulties on Friday and they might not be providing a pick-and-drop service to students on Tuesday if the shortage of fuel persists,” he said.—A Reporter
