MIRPURKHAS, Jan 9: A sessions court released 11 bonded workers, including women and children, after recording their statements on Wednesday.

A complaint had been filed with the sessions court by Sarang, stating that 11 of his relatives were being held illegally at the farm of landlord Haji Dal, near Public School Mirpurkhas, where they were being forced to work without wages, requesting that the court ensure their recovery from illegal captivity.

On court orders, the Mirpurkhas police raided the farm on Tuesday night and took 11 people — Shremti Jati, Shremti Jamani, Gowand, Maghan, Sano, Signo, Aamia, Naro, Youjna, Dhalo and Peeno — into their custody. They were released on Wednesday morning after their statements were recorded by the second additional sessions judge.
