KARACHI, Jan 7: Karachi Gymkhana completed a hat-trick of titles when they outgunned Karachi Kings by six wickets in the annual Super Veterans Over-60 Twenty20 fixture at the KG premises here on Sunday.

Put into bat by Karachi Gymkhana skipper Masroor Mirza, Karachi Kings made 137-4 in their stipulated number of overs. Shahid Wadood was the leading run-getter with an entertaining innings of 50 from 31 deliveries that featured four boundaries.

Former Pakistan hockey stalwart Islahuddin scored a 35-ball 30 with one four. Masroor Mirza claimed two wickets for 26 runs, while Mian Sharif (1-12) and Mian Shaukat (1-24) were the other wicket-takers.

Karachi Gymkhana collected 139-4 in reply to win the match. Prominent banker Arif Habib, who was adjudicated the Man-of-the-Match, batted brilliantly to smash six fours in scoring a swashbuckling 60 off just 33 balls. Akhtar Shah contributed 24 off 19 balls with the aid of two hits to the fence.

For Karachi Kings Fasihullah Siddique and retired brigadier Salahuddin each took a wicket for five and 42 runs, respectively.

Former Pakistan Test all-rounder Nasim-u-Ghani graced the occasion as the chief guest and distributed the prizes at a ceremonywhich was also attended by Pakistan Veterans Cricket Association (PVCA) chairman Fawad Ijaz Khan.—Sports Reporter
