LAHORE, Jan 6: The exemption of industrial and agriculture sectors from gas and power loadshedding is the key factor which can boost economic and agricultural growth as well as national exports.
The Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) urged the government to exempt the industrial sector from power and gas loadshedding and withdraw increase in fuel prices to strengthen national economy.
Talking to reporters here on Sunday, FPCCI president Fazal Qadir Sherani, Saarc CCI vice-president Iftikhar Ali Malik and former LCCI SVP Meher Kashif Younis said the government should accord top priority to industrial and agricultural sectors.
They said the uninterrupted provision of gas and power was prerequisite and a “lifeline” for industrial and agricultural growth. Mr Malik said that hike in gas, power and petroleum products prices was affecting the manufacturers who were already hit by gas and power outages.—APP
