LAHORE, Jan 5: Thousands of people visited the Dawn Media Group’s All About Lifestyles exhibition on its opening day on Saturday at Expo Centre, Johar Town.

Clad in colourful woollies, children continued to throng the interactive Young World Pavilion and pottery-making enclave throughout the day. A chill in the air could not prevent children from having fun in the play area.

Parents were interested in approximately 100 stalls, displaying products ranging from consumer items to commercial ones, at economical prices besides special offers.

An annual feature for the last 12 years, the show also had an elaborate food court, offering continental, Chinese and traditional local delicacies at affordable prices. The “German Shepherd Championship Dog Show” continued from 11am onwards and participated in by 162 dogs in the minor puppy (six to nine months old), puppy (nine to 12 months old), junior (12 to 18 months old), youth (18 to 24 months old) and open (above two years) categories.

Owned by Noman Asghar and Daniyal Shah, Verdi Zum Kolbenguss stood first in open male category while Grappa Von Tronje, owned by Usman and Arsalan Baloch, was adjudged the best in open female category.

In the youth male category, Ejaz Ahmed’s Twin Vom Augrund was declared first while Binni Vom Jupiter, owned by Adil Warraich, was adjudged the best in the youth female category.

Owned by Dr Muneeb Razzaq, Uncle Sam Vom Augrund stood first in the junior male category while Dony Vom Givvator, owned by Rehan Zahid, was declared the best in junior female category.

In the puppy male category, Dr Nisar Ahmed Khan’s Dhooni Vom Bretta Kennel was declared first while Coco Vom Teamwinner, owned by Amir Nadeem, was adjudged first in the puppy female category.

Owned by Hammad Butt, Figo Vom Bad Wolf stood first in the minor puppy male category.

The exhibition will remain open for public from 10am to 10pm on Sunday (today) at the Expo Centre and the All-Breed Championship Dog Show will begin at 11am. — Staff Reporter
