BADIN, Jan 14: The self-immolation attempt by Hanif Bhatti, an employee of the Lower Sindh Mechanical Division, Sida, Badin, was foiled by the district Nazim, Kamal Khan Chang, and others on Tuesday.

Hanif Bhatti and other Sida employees were protesting against the non-payment of their salaries for the last eight months. They were observing hunger strike since the last seven days.

The protesters announced to commit self-immolation three days back to press for their demands.—Correspondent
