LAHORE, Jan 2: Sarwer Road police registered a kidnap case of Indian-Canadian woman, Rajvindar Gill, on Wednesday who had been missing since August, 2012.
Police did not insert the murder section in the FIR lodged under section 365 of Pakistan Penal Code, despite the confession of a man that the woman was strangled on Aug 25.
Ms Gill in her 30s reportedly came to Pakistan to settle a financial dispute and disappeared on the day of her arrival.
One of the two suspects, identified as Shahzad of Mozang, who was arrested few days ago, confessed that he with his master had murdered the woman after picking her from the Lahore Airport and dumped the body into a canal.
A police investigator told Dawn the murder section would be added to the FIR only when police would find the body.
He said the CIA police would trace the case, recover the body and arrest the principle accused who had fled abroad.
