MQM team meets Qadri

LAHORE, Dec 27: Tehrik Minhajul Quran chief Dr Tahirul Qadri said on Thursday he would start leading the long march with around 200,000 people from Lahore to Islamabad on Jan 13 and the number of people would grow to four million on the way.

“There the gathering will decide for how long it has to be there for the acceptance of its demands,” Qadri told reporters after his party’s four-hour long meeting with an MQM delegation led by Dr Farooq Sattar.

He said his long march was exclusively for pushing the government to form an independent and honest interim set-up for holding free and fair general elections in future after involving all stakeholders, including military and judiciary.

Earlier, MQM leader Dr Farooq Sattar told reporters that the discussion with the TMQ leadership remained successful. — Staff Reporter
