Sensible tax reform system
THE recent report shows that 67 per cent of parliamentarians and 62 per cent of ministers of the federal cabinet did not file their income-tax return. It is a matter of great concern that our politicians and law-makers make tall claims about eradicating the menace of poverty, corruption and unemployment when they happen to address huge gatherings, conferences and meetings but they don’t bother to pay tax or find ways to avoid it. How do they expect others to pay the same. Our problem is corruption because of which it loses Rs10 to 12 billion. This shows the inefficiency of the NAB.
The problem starts at the top. The authorities concerned must come up with concrete solutions.
