KARACHI, Dec 19: President Asif Ali Zardari signed on Wednesday “The Right to Free and Compulsory Education Bill-2012” at a ceremony held at the Chief Minister’s House.

The bill, which recognises the right to free and compulsory education for all children aged between 5 to 16 years, has become a law after the President’s assent.

PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad and  Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah were among those who attended the signing ceremony.—APP
