LAHORE, Dec 17: Young left-handed batsman Haris Sohail, who has been named in Pakistan’s One-day International squad for the upcoming series against India, has dislocated his left ankle and has been given a six-day rest.

Pakistan team manager Naveed Akram Cheema told reporters on Monday afternoon that Haris had undergone an MRI test on his left ankle reports of which were expected in the next couple of hours. Later, it was declared that Haris — keeping in view his medical report — had been advised six-day rest for recovery.

However, 23-year-old Haris of Sialkot will accompany the national team to India as he is expected to regain full fitness by the time the three-match ODI series starts in Chennai on Dec 30.

Meanwhile, Naveed announced that during the India tour — to run from Dec 22 to Jan 7 — he would not allow any cricketer to attend private functions.

However, he said, there would be no blanket curfew during the tour, adding the boys would be allowed to attend official functions along with visits to prominent public places keeping the players’ choice in view.

“Every player of the national team has been told about his role and conduct during the [India] tour and hopefully it will be a trouble-free tour,” Naveed stated.

Naveed said the PCB advanced committee, which had toured India to observe the preparations being made by the BCCI for the tour, had briefed him about the arrangements, which he termed as quite satisfactory.

Meanwhile, he said a three-match one-day series was being arranged here at the Gaddafi Stadium in order to prepare the team for the India series.

The first match of the series was played on Monday.
