KARACHI, Dec 9: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Qamar Zaman Kaira has said that the South Punjab province will be made in accordance with the aspirations of the people of area.

Talking to reporters at the Karachi airport on Sunday evening, he said the process for setting up the new province was under way and the commission formed for the purpose would submit its report in the National Assembly soon.

To a question, he said the PPP had entered into an alliance with the PML-Q and the Sunni Ittehad Council and “we will contest the coming general election together”.He said the MQM and ANP were also the PPP’s allies but there was no formal declaration as yet for contesting the elections together.—APP
