Property seizure: ATC gives Sehba’s lawyer last chance to appear

ISLAMABAD: The Anti-Terrorism Court in Rawalpindi on Saturday gave Ilyas Siddiqui, Sehba Musharraf’s counsel, one last chance to appear in court during the hearing of a petition against the freezing of former president Pervez Musharraf’s bank accounts and other assets, DawnNews reported.

ATC Special Judge Chaudhry Habibur Rahman heard Sehba’s petition challenging the freezing of her husband’s assets.

Although Advocate Siddiqui was due to present the details of his client’s source of income in court today, he failed to appear for the hearing.

Upon his absence, the ATC gave Advocate Siddiqui one last chance to appear in court and adjourned the hearing until Dec 15.

Benazir murder case:

During Saturday’s hearing of the Benazir Bhutto murder case, Advocate Naseer Tanoli, counsel for the suspect Aitzaz Shah, submitted on his client’s behalf a request in court for a speedy trial.

Advocate Tanoli requested the court to process his client’s trial separately from the other suspects and to award him a speedy trial.

He also informed the court that since his counsel was a minor, his trial should be held in the juvenile court.
