KARACHI, Dec 3: South Korean golfers swept the two-day sixth Pond’s ladies golf tournament which concluded at Karachi Golf Club (KGC) on Sunday.

Ahn Gui Ja completed the rout by winning the putting competition — silver category — (handicap 24 and below) the other day after her countrywoman Mrs Park Young Hee had won the 18-hole event.

Ahn Gui Ja seized 19 points to emerge victorious. She was followed by Miss Aania Farooq of Airmen Golf Club with 15 points. It is pertinent to mention that the latter had to be content with runner-up slot in the 18-hole event.

Some 30 women golfers featured in the putting event which envisaged making three putts on the ninth green of the KGC academy course.

Mr. Ehsan Malik, Chairman and CEO Unilever Pakistan, who graced the occasion, gave away the prizes.

Results: Putting competition: Silver category (handicap 24 and under): Winner: Mrs. Ahn Gui Ja (KGC) 19pts

Runner-up: Miss Ania Farooq (AMG) 15pts Bronze category (handicap 25 and over): Winner: Ms Fawzia Naqvi (KGC) 14pts

Runner-up: Miss Hinako Nakayama (KGC) 14pts

Without handicap: Winner: Miss Maha Ahmed 19pts

Runner-up: Miss Mahnoor Sikandar 13pts

Longest Drive: Mrs. Humaira Khalid (IGC) 201yds

Closest to pin: Mrs. Cho Young Mi (KGC) 9’10”
