KARACHI, Dec 3: Defending champions Pakistan CC rode on a brilliant century from all-rounder Akbar-ur-Rehman to outclass Nazimabad Gymkhana by 72 runs in the seventh NBP-KCCA Premier League Cricket fixture at the TMC Ground here on Monday. In another match played at the Landhi Gymkhana Ground, Tapal CC beat Landhi Friends by 34 runs.

Pakistan CC, batting first, totalled 247-8 in their allotted 40 overs with Akbar striking 102 off 92 balls with the aid of five boundaries and four sixes. Naeem Ahmed Khan also played a fine knock of 85, while helping Akbar put on 102 for the second wicket. His 83-ball innings contained five fours and one six.

Nazimabad Gymkhana’s slow left-armer Junaid Naeem claimed three wickets for 42 runs.

In their response to the competitive run chase Nazimabad Gymkhana managed only 175 before being all out on the penultimate delivery of the match with Faraz Patel scoring 48.

Leg-spinner Shahzaib Ahmed Khan captured four for 24.

Mohammad Javed struck 73 with six boundaries and Anop Ravi hit exactly 50 (four boundaries) to help Tapal CC make 210-7 in their 40 overs.

Slow left-armer Kamran Umar then grabbed four wickets for 29 runs to send Landhi Friends reeling to 176-9.
