The lawyer community is divided over the Human Rights Watch (HRW) report, which expressed its concern over the use of “contempt of court powers” by the judges in Pakistan, to stop criticism of the judiciary in the media.

The lawyers belonging to the ruling party hailed the report, whereas those affiliated with the opposition were critical.
