DERA GHAZI KHAN, Jan 8: The census of blind Indus dolphin, hog, deer and water fowl will be conducted from Thursday (today).
A team from the Punjab Wildlife Research Institute, Gutwala, will conduct the census. Led by Muhammad Saeed, the team will continue census at Taunsa barrage sanctuary till Jan 12.
Meanwhile, on a student’s complaint, the Wildlife Department’s deputy director took notice of the dogs and bear fight which was going to take place on Jan 12 at Mauza Aalidah Chowk, Qureshian.
LOOTED: Two unidentified bandits looted cash from a medical store and also took away the owner’s motorcycle in Saddar Bazaar here on Wednesday.
Armed men entered Ali Medical Store, held up Sheikh Muhammad Ali and locked him in a store. Later, they collected cash from the counter and also took away his bike parked outside the shop. Ali informed the Rescue 15 who intercepted two motorcyclists, but they sped away. After a brief chase, the police rounded up the suspected riders who turned out to be innocent.
