ISLAMABAD, Nov 27: Scores of small posters inscribed with slogans against Pakistan Army and its chief were found pasted in and around F-8 Markaz by banned outfit Hizbut Tahrir Wilayah, police said on Tuesday.
The Margalla police SHO Inspector Arshad Ali Abro confirmed the activity and said a case had been registered against the organisation and its activists under Anti-Terrorism Act (ATA).
It is suspected that the clandestine activity took place on Monday night and Tuesday afternoon, the police said.
Later the police removed all the posters and brought them to police station for legal action.
A sub-inspector – Abdul Sattar Baig – lodged a former complaint which led to the registration of the case against the organisation.
A police officer said that the organisation had been involved in such practices and spread their messages through mobile phones and internet. They in this regard use different mobiles numbers and email addresses, and once a number is used they switch it off to avoid being traced, he added.
On a couple of occasions its activists were also caught distributing written stuff in the capital, he said.
ISPR was not available for its comments over the issue.
Similarly, HuT was also approached on the number it used to send SMSs, but they were either found switched off or engaged.
President, Trader Union F-8 Markaz, Qamar Abbasi when contacted said that he was not aware of the issue. “Neither he saw any poster nor has any one brought the issue to his knowledge,” he added.
