Three ‘rapists’ arrested

SHEIKHUPURA, Nov 27: Nanrang Mandi police have arrested three people who allegedly raped five women in village Noon on Sunday.

Police said eight people were involved in the alleged rape case, of them three – Zaheer, Tassaduqu and Shahzad – had been arrested and remanded into custody. Police said the alleged rapists had taken the women into fields and raped them. This correspondent visited the police station and saw the three men wailing over their act.

SIKHS: Up to 6,000 Sikh and Hindu pilgrims arrived in Sacha Sauda near Farooqabad, 15 kilometres from Sheikhupura, on Tuesday and performed their religious rites in a gurdwara.

Later, they returned to Nankana Sahib to participate in the 544th birth anniversary of Baba Guru Nanak. The celebrations will conclude on Wednesday (today).

More than 15,000 pilgrims from India, the UAE, Malaysia, Uganda, Kenya, Afghanistan, the UK, the US, Germany, France and Canada have arrived in Nankana Sahib.
