THATTA, Jan 8: The leaders of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) said that their party would remain neutral in the by-elections in Thatta district.
Addressing a public gathering during their visit of Thatta district at Mirpur Bathoro town on Wednesday, Abdul Khaliq Baloch, in charge, Sindh organizing committee; MPA Abdul Sattar Ansari; Dr Arif Razmi, organizer Thatta-Badin zone; Aslam Khairpuri, district president, JSQM; and Heer Soho, MQM MPA from Mirpur Bathoro; claimed that after coming into power their first priority was to achieve provincial autonomy, restoration of provincial rights, and providing justice to all.
They claimed that time would prove that the Muttahida was the true and genuine representative of the deprived rural and urban population of Sindh.
They said that no one from the past governments played any role in redressing the grievances of Sindh, rather they were busy in filling the pockets of their leaders and serving vested interests with the result that major issues like providing water to Sindh and jobs to the people were never really looked into, and problems like poverty, illiteracy, and lawlessness kept on increasing with each passing day.
They said that both the rural and urban population were kept away from each other under a conspiracy, but now the MQM would eliminate this gap and bring both the rural and urban people on one platform for the prosperous future of the people of Sindh.
They claimed that the cases against Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad were registered in absentia with political motives.
The MQM leaders claimed that their government would serve the masses of Thatta district with dedication and honesty.
This was the first public gathering of the Muttahida in Mirpur Bathoro town, which is known as a stronghold of nationalist leaders.
The MQM leaders also visited Daro, Bannu, and Laiqpur towns to address corner meetings there.
SHORTAGE OF TEACHERS: The Government Girls High School, Mirpur Bathoro, which was established in 1994, has been without any teachers for Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, and English for a long time as a result of which the students’ education is suffering badly.

SEVEN SHOPS GUTTED: A welding shop caught fire as a result of which it as well as six nearby shops were reduced to ashes in Halo Mohalla, Thatta town.
At least 200 gas cylinders stored in the shop exploded which created panic in the area.
