SIALKOT, Nov 23: The Pasrur tehsil municipal administration has planned to shift the fruit and vegetables market to its outskirts by December end to ease the rising traffic load.
The local municipality has chalked out a comprehensive plan to convert Pasrur into a model town. The Sialkot army supporting team has also sought suggestions from the Pasrur administration in this regard.
Every government in the past had neglected Pasrur despite making tall claims of changing the fate of the town. Still a backward area, Pasrur has no gas and clean drinking water facilities.
It is also devoid of modern communication and health facilities.
Over 200,000 residents of Pasrur have urged upon the Punjab governor to announce a long-awaited uplift package for Pasrur.
URS: A three-day annual Urs of Hazrat Sharaf Shah Qalandar (Bou Ali Qalandar) began on Friday in a bordering Nekkowal Sharif village near the Sialkot working boundary’s Bajragarhi sector.
Scores of devotees, including former Federal minister Haji Hanif Tayyub, participated in the special ghusal ceremony. He laid wreathes and showered rose petals on the shrine.
Mehfil-i-qiraat was also held on the occasion.
DINNER: The Sialkot press club on Thursday hosted an Iftar dinner for its members.
Sialkot district Nazim Mian Naeem Javaid, Sialkot DCO Capt Zahid Saeed (retired) and SCCI president Daud Ahmad Chattha were also present to grace the occasion.
