ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Qamar Zaman Kaira on Thursday said Pakistan's geo-political and strategic importance was being acknowledged all over the world.

"Pakistan is being treated as a responsible state in the international community," he stated this during a television interview.

He said Pakistan was in isolation before the PPP government came into power in 2008.

“Our government after coming into power made constant efforts to apprise the world that Pakistan is a responsible nation," he stated.

Kaira said that Pakistan identified issues of the members of D-8 and regional friends through the summit.

"The members states are also the emerging economic powers of their regions, " he said.

He said that the future of D-8 forum is very important.

“Holding D-8 conference and its chairmanship for Pakistan both identified the geo-political and strategic importance of this country,” he said.
