LAHORE, Jan 6: The Pakistan Awami Tehrik (PAT) says violation of sanctity of borders by foreign troops, statements about nuclear programme of the country and recent immigration laws introduced by US authorities are creating unrest among the masses.
The central working committee of the party which met here on Monday observed that the conditions required that the government should convene a National Assembly session to discuss the situation as well as immediately taking steps for protecting sovereignty of the country.
It also urged upon the US authorities to refrain from passing such remarks that could strain relations between Washington and Islamabad.
Calling upon the government to form a new foreign policy in the backdrop of the recent development in the world, it feared the internal situation in Pakistan would worsen if the Jamali administration failed to clear suspicions of the masses about it.
It also feared a new wave of terrorism in the world if the United States unilaterally attacked Iraq without seeking UN sanction for its action.
