LAHORE, Nov 13: The 11th three-day International Cancer Symposium of Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Centre concluded here on Monday.
Various sessions on different medical faculties, presided over by renowned specialists of their fields, were held during the event.
Some 150 speakers from Pakistan and abroad presented their research papers, followed by an extensive discussion and question-answer sessions.
SKMCH&RC Chief Executive Officer Dr Faisal Sultan and symposium organizing committee chairman Dr Arif Jamshed apprised the audience of the objectives of the symposium and thanked them for their participation. He hoped they would extend their support for this institution in future as well.
Shaukat Khanum Memorial Trust board of governors chairman Imran Khan thanked foreign delegates for their participation.
“There was a time when people were reluctant to participate in such symposiums in the absence of sufficient research work on cancer in the country but we have been organising such symposiums for the last 15 years where people have been participating actively which speaks of the credibility of this institution,” he said.
