LAHORE, Nov 12: The City District Government of Lahore on Monday surrendered services of Data Ganj Bakhsh Town’s Deputy District Officer (Health) to the health department besides issuing a show-cause notice to another health official for showing poor performance in the last anti-polio drive.

The administration took the action on the report submitted by UNICEF and WHO representatives against the officials in a meeting held and presided over by the DCO to review officials’ performance in the last and on-going polio drives in the city. The DCO also directed all town administrators to personally visit the city and monitor performance of the officials engaged in the anti-polio drives.

TRANSFER: A performance review committee of the City District Government of Lahore on Monday sought transfer of lethargic and negligent deputy district education officers to remote area after issuing them with show-cause notices.

“Officials have to improve their performance with reference to their job description or face stern action. So the DDEOs who couldn’t perform well during the last two months must be transferred to remote areas as a punishment,” DCO Noorul Amin Mengal said while presiding over the committee’s meeting at Town Hall. — Staff Reporter
