LAST year, students from rural areas of Balochistan and Fata were awarded scholarships by the HEC to undertake their studies in various universities of Pakistan.

Unfortunately, these students are now facing difficulties in continuing their study because they are not receiving funds from the HEC.

It is disappointing to see that in spite of making several pleas to the HEC, students have not received their university fees, living allowances, etc.

There is not denying the fact that living in major cities of Pakistan such as Islamabad, Lahore and Multan is very difficult for students. They have to bear all educational expenses apart from daily expenditures while inflation is unprecedented.

I, therefore, request the authorities concerned to look into this matter and pay students’ their living allowances and tuition fee on time.
