HYDERABAD, Nov 11: Leaders of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) said on Sunday that a number of former PML-N office-bearers whose membership was cancelled on disciplinary grounds were busy propagating against the party leadership under a conspiracy.

Addressing a press conference, acting president of PML-N’s Hyderabad chapter Mohammad Hanif Siddiqui and others said the ousted activists were holding press conferences and demonstrations against genuine leadership of the party.

They accused them of trying to weaken the party by propagating against its leaders. The party cancelled membership of former president of Hyderabad Afzal Gujjar and other office-bearers Mehboob Junejo, Shahzad Junejo, Raja Ghazanfar Mughal and Ghulam Shah when their involvement in a fist-fight was proved after an inquiry. These and two others, Ahmad Haider and Shahid Shah, were no longer PML-N activists, they said.

A fist-fight took place at the press club before a press conference addressed by PML-N Senator Raja Zafarul Haq a few weeks ago.

Party head Nawaz Sharif ordered an inquiry and subsequently PML-N’s Sindh president Ghous Ali Shah cancelled membership of the five activist after conducting an inquiry.
