ISLAMABAD, Nov 23: The Progressive Women’s Association (PWA) will hold a peaceful demonstration on Sunday to commemorate the International Day on Violence Against Women, and the Convention on the Elimination of all forms of Discrimination against women.

The demonstration will be participated by Kashmiri and Afghan women refugees.

The PWA will also organize a walk on Sunday at 12:30 pm which will start from Women’s Ministry.

The assemblage will condemn the atrocities perpetuated against Afghan and Kashmiri women.

“The bend half that hold up the sky”, as said by great revolutionary leader Mao Zedong, are still struggling to gain some form of self-respect and dignity, and break the shackles of violence and brutality against their gender.

Women, the world over have been subjected to carnage and violence. Be it a state of peace or war, woman is the only sufferer and bearer of the outcome and consequences.

The PWA is struggling since the past decade against violence and harassment of women in Pakistan. With special emphasis on victims of burns.
