LONDON, Nov 7: The chief of Muttahida Qaumi Movement, Altaf Hussain, said on Wednesday that the crisis in which the country had been plunged by exchange of words between the army and the judiciary was not imaginary.

He said in a statement that he was the only person who had sensed frictions between state institutions and warned on several occasions that the country needed stability and unity.

In the present circumstances, it would not be advisable to air differences between the army and the judiciary in public and to complicate the issues that could otherwise be resolved easily.

He said all state institutions must resolve their issues and differences through dialogue because the welfare of the country required this. The image of the country should not be tarnished for the sake of ego and desires of a few individuals.

He said there was the need to reflect the wishes and aspirations of 180 million people of the country and demonstrate complete unity. All state institutions must respect each other and work within their own framework.—Agencies
