ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court on Tuesday announced a detailed verdict of the case pertaining to the bail of Ali Musa Gilani, son of former Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani and former federal health minister Makhdoom Shahabuddin, DawnNews reported.

The seventeen page detailed verdict, written by Justice Nasir-ul-Mulk, said that the arrest of Ali Musa Gilani from the premises of the apex court was an inappropriate action of the Federal Investigation Authority (FIA) and the court was not pleased by that. Adding that, he said that the court considers this act as putting obstruction to the justice.

The court order said that Makhdoom Shahabuddin’s arrest warrants were issued after he submitted his nomination papers for the premiership. He also said that the prosecutor was unable to provide any evidence to prove non-cooperation from Shahabuddin and Ali Musa in the investigation.

Moreover, the order stated that according to prosecutor's  statement, both accused appeared before the investigation officers at least four times.

The order further stated that it was not justified to keep the accused in detention despite their cooperation.

The court order also said that it was interesting to note that former Director General Health Dr Rasheed Jumma was never taken into detention nor charged with any criminal case. Jumma seems to be a central suspect of the case, the order added.
