Fahad heroics in vain

KARACHI, Nov 5: Despite a fine all-round performance by Fahad Anjum, Jaffer Brothers suffered a seven-wicket drubbing at the hands of Premier System in the New AJ Sports Multinational Champions League T20 cricket tournament at the Young Fighters Ground here the other day.

Fahad was the top-scorer with 32, that included two fours and one six, as Jaffer Brothers were all out for 127. Mukarram Waheed contributed 22. Medium-pacer Farjam Khan grabbed four wickets for 21 runs, while off-spinner Khalid Khurshid claimed three for 22.

Premier System, in reply, reached their target in the 16th over by making 129-3. Haris Shahab led the way for them with 42 in a knock that featured three boundaries and a brace of sixes. Asim Amin hit three fours and one six in his undefeated 28.

For Jaffer Brothers, Fahad Anjum took all three wickets to fall for 14 runs in four overs.
