Remembering Azmat Ali Khan

THE death(Oct 22) of Azmat Ali Khan, founder of Bazm-i-sciency Adab, is another great loss for the nation. He was a man of great calibre. His efforts to promote science and art had won him respect not only in Pakistan but also abroad.

He served the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan as managing editor for their journal for many years and was instrumental in getting it indexed in the Medline/PubMed, which brought this journal in the row of international journals.

He tutored a number of doctors in the art of writing for medical journals. He produced a number of books and monographs on the work of eminent science and arts scholars.

Despite being a great man, he led a very simple life and dedicated himself to the promotion of scientific literature. He deserves recognition by the government for uplifting the image of Pakistan.
