MUZAFFARABAD, Jan 4: The chairman of the Kashmir Committee, Sardar Abdul Qayyum Khan, has said that all options to resolve the Kashmir issue should be considered.
Talking to Reuters on Friday he said that any new proposal should be considered by all parties concerned.
“We should be prepared to discuss any option with an open mind to resolve the Kashmir issue, be it making the Line of Control a permanent boundary, making the entire state of Kashmir independent or any other option,” he said.
Mr Khan said that Pakistan was not in a position to come up with a new option on Kashmir because of its longstanding position on the issue. Therefore new suggestions should come from India or the United States.
“If there is any proposal from the United States or India, we should give thought to it, discuss it, and see its application,” the former AJK president said. “Any such proposal suggested by India or the US should be discussed together by all the parties to the conflict,’’ he said.—Reuters
