Bail of Amir, seven others confirmed

LARKANA: A sessions court on Wednesday confirmed the interim bail of a son of former Sindh chief minister Mumtaz Bhutto and seven others in two cases pertaining to murder and rioting.

Additional Sessions Judge, Larkana, Samkan Hussain Mughul confirmed the bail of Amir Bakhsh Bhutto, Barkat Machi, Ali Dino Narejo, Abdul Raheem Bhutto, Hubb Ali Mirbahar, Ali Murad Narejo, Nadir Ali Mirani and Azeem Kuriro and directed them to appear in the trial court in Ratodero on Nov 2.

The eight suspects had been granted interim pre-arrest bail on Oct 1.

Advocate Ali Nawaz Ghanghro and others appeared on behalf of Mr Bhutto, who is a member of the central executive committee of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, and others.

The two cases (FIR Nos 30 and 31 of 2012) were registered under Sections 302 (premeditated murder), 148 (rioting, armed with deadly weapon), 149 (every member of unlawful assembly guilty of offence committed in prosecution of common objects), 114 (abettor present when offence is committed) and 429 (mischief by killing or maiming cattle) of the Pakistan Penal Code.

The cases were registered following the murder of Nawab aka Muhammed Bakhsh Bhutto, Ali Bakhsh aka Allan Khuhro and Zaman Khuhro on Sept 29 within the remit of the Ketti Mumtaz Bhutto over a land dispute in the kutcha area.

Former chief ministers Mumtaz Bhutto and Ghaus Ali Shah along with Amir Bakhsh Bhutto and provincial leadership of the PML-N Saleem Zia, Sorth Thebo, Zain Ansari, Ayub Shar, Khailadas Kohistani and others were present during the court proceedings.
